Our Vision and Mission

To create awareness so people understand the use of restrictive intervention and the role it plays in keeping people safe. Where restrictive practice is used, it is always the least restrictive option for the shortest amount of time, reducing the impact on quality of life. We believe that by educating and increasing the capacity of the wider community, and by sharing our vision and values, the quality of life can be increased for all.

Meet The Team

Paula Gebert

Paula is an Advanced Practitioner and the Director of Regional Behaviour Support who has been lucky enough to support and share experiences with people with additional needs for 17 years. Positive behaviour support was something I had a passion for before I even knew what to call it. I have supported people through the best and the most challenging moments of their life, from travelling abroad, to supporting young people entering out of home care and people living in shared environments. In my previous role I managed a large team of practitioners and supervised implementation as an Authorised Program Officer.

I have a strong belief that we play a vital role in safeguarding and strengthening support, wellbeing and capacity. It’s our role to get to know the person and assist them in every way we can to ensure their communication is understood. It is our role to gather the pieces of the puzzle, put it together and work collaboratively with the person, their support network and caregivers for the very best outcome for the person.

Choice and control reside with the individuals we support, and we recognise that people evolve as a result of their experiences. It is essential that we remain open to reflecting on our own practices and adapt to the unique paths of each person’s journey.

Nadia Chrysanthou

I am an Advanced Level Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner with a background in primary education, and I am passionate about supporting people in a way that is respectful, practical, and person-centred. My work is grounded in evidence-based practice, with a strong focus on advocacy, improving quality of life, reducing restrictive practices, and recognising each participant’s strengths, potential, and right to a fresh start.

I believe every person experiences the world differently, and meaningful support starts with taking the time to understand their unique perspective, needs, communication, and environment. I am passionate about advocating for participants, so their voice, dignity, and individuality remain at the centre of all decision-making.

I also care deeply about building the confidence and capacity of families, support workers, and broader support networks, so they feel supported to implement strategies that are positive, achievable, and meaningful in everyday life. With experience in behaviour analysis, functional assessment, behaviour support planning, and mentoring others, I aim to provide support that is thoughtful, ethical, and empowering.

Danielle Clark

With over 17 years’ experience in positive behaviour support and a background in psychology, I’m passionate about helping people with complex needs live better, more fulfilling lives—while reducing reliance on restrictive practices. My work focuses on delivering high-quality support, thorough behaviour assessments and developing practical, evidence-based strategies that are genuinely person-centred and respectful.

I believe that meaningful support starts with truly understanding each person—their history, experiences, and what matters most to them. Every person deserves to be authentically understood, not just managed, and this belief underpins all aspects of my work.

My approach looks beyond behaviours of concern to understand the unmet needs behind them, with a focus on creating environments where people have what they need, and feel heard, safe, respected, and empowered. I work closely with families and support teams to build strong, supportive relationships that encourage connection, growth, and lasting improvements in quality of life, guided by research and best practice.

Testimonials

Sam Searle

Sensitive Support Services; Support Coordinator.

Working alongside Paula has been an absolute pleasure. What has impressed me the most is the way she works with every member of the team. Paula is remarkably generous with her knowledge and always willing to share what she knows, helping those around her grow in their roles and develop personally. She lifts the whole team. Beyond that, her genuine care and compassion for the client and their family is evident in everything that she does. She’s motivated, driven and invested in achieving the best possible outcomes. With the addition of two new team members, Regional Behaviour Support is now well placed to provide support with even greater depth and reach. Paula is exactly the kind of practitioner you want on a team and I couldn’t recommend her and her team more highly.

Kate Pyle

Hume Support Services; Authorised Program Officer

As an Authorised Program Officer, finding a behaviour support practitioner who genuinely understands both clinical requirements and the human side of support is invaluable. Regional Behaviour Support works closely and collaboratively with me to safely reduce restrictive practices while simultaneously focusing on skill-building and improving the participant’s overall quality of life. What I appreciate most is their proactive communication and practical, evidence-based strategies that truly put the person first. I would highly recommend their service to anyone seeking thoughtful, rights-based, and effective positive behaviour support.

Malena

Specialist Support Coordinator; Future Focus Support Coordination

Before working with Regional Behaviour Support, our client was going through an incredibly difficult time- a long hospital stay, a breakdown in family relationships, complex support needs, and involvement with VCAT. It was an urgent and challenging situation. From the moment Danielle came on board, the difference was clear. She was professional, proactive, and guided the whole team with confidence, always asking the right questions to get to the heart of what our client actually needed. What I have appreciated most is seeing firsthand how much impact a strong Behaviour Support Practitioner can have – not just on the participant’s life, but on the supports around them, and on how effectively we work together as a multidisciplinary team. If your current provider isn’t achieving the outcomes you are looking for, I would genuinely encourage you to give Regional Behaviour Support a try.

Parent

We recently started sessions with Danielle. From day one, my son warmed to her instantly! Danielle is friendly, understanding and compassionate. During the session my son was comfortable enough to open up to Danielle about things he is finding difficult and even asked her if she could help him with some day to day problem’s he is having. Danielle always provides exceptional support, I would highly recommend her, you won’t be disappointed.
